The meeting was called to order at 9:20 a.m.

The acting city secretary announced that a quorum of the city council was present.

The invocation was given by Mayor Ron Kirk.

The meeting agenda, which was posted in accordance with Chapter 551, "OPEN MEETINGS," of the Texas Government Code, was presented.

After all business properly brought before the city council had been considered the city council adjourned at 2:28 p.m.

A resolution approving an eight percent (8%) merit increase for the City Manager, effective November 1,1997, a seven percent (7%) merit increase for the City Attorney, effective October 12, 1997, and a five percent (5%) merit increase for the City Auditor, effective November 1, 1997, and authorizing third amendments to the City Manager's contract and the City Attorney's contract incorporating all compensation adjustments approved by the City Council - Financing: Current Funds


Councilmember Mayes moved to approve the resolution.
